So, I finally figured out what I should blog about. It's the stuff I'm always doing when I'm not working, the stuff I'm doing when I should be working, the stuff I dream about, search for, shop for... And it actually is just stuff - sewing, crafting, kids projects, places to go and things to do with the kids. So, it's a mom blog, basically. Like all those other blogs out there, I'm not sure I'm looking to stand out, but we'll see where this takes me.
SO! I'm about to unveil my first refashion. Drum rolll please...
I did it in one afternoon. I can't find the image of the shirt that inspired this one, but i'll post as soon as I find it.
BTW - this was originally a maternity shirt that my friend tie-dyed for me that I still wanted to wear, so this is what I did to it.
Comments welcome.
Hi Remees, couldn't find an email address on your profile so am leaving a comment here to respond to your questions re: the blue playhouse. Sorry I've taken so long. I've forgotten the dimensions of the house already! I think it is about 40" long and 30" wide. Email me again to remind me to check the sketch I made in my notebook, OK? I really just measured the frame and cut pieces of cloth to the dimensions, giving maybe about a half-inch allowance on each edge. Not too much, because you want the cover to fit snugly and not look oversized - a half inch here and there adds up all around! Also cross-beams sound like a good idea because the frame is less stable than a table tent. But I wonder about the extra weight the beams might add. They'll be good for keeping the length and width apart but not sure if they might make the roof beam sag. Maybe your frame is sturdier than mine, in which case it's all good!
ReplyDeleteHey Remees, You've done a great job with the refashion. As a response to your question my pictures were about 2-1/2" by 1-2/2" before shrinking them down. Let me know if you have another question, kalleenk(at)hotmail.com.
